Many high schools offer a physical education class in solo sports. Individual or solo sports include things like golf, weight lifting, cycling, skiing, bowling, and archery. Some people consider an individual sport anything that isn't played as a team, such as singles tennis et al. Of all the individual sports, archery has a number of advantages.

Archery has played an important role in world history. Some form of the bow and arrow has existed almost as long as human beings have walked on the earth. A number of ancient civilizations used the bow and arrow as their primary weapon. It also has been used for hunting even to the present day. There are a number of designs to the bow.
